**Tampa Mayor Issues Urgent Warning About Hurricane Milton**
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor made a serious warning about Hurricane Milton, saying, “If you choose to stay in an evacuation area, you’re gonna die.”
She explained that forecasts predict a tidal surge of 10-12 feet, compared to 6 feet from Hurricane Helene, which already caused major damage.
Milton is one of the strongest hurricanes ever recorded in the Gulf, with winds reaching 180 mph. It could hit Florida as early as Wednesday and may be even more destructive than Helene, which recently affected the state.
Mayor Castor emphasized, “This is something I’ve never seen in my life,” and urged everyone to evacuate. She warned that if the storm surge happens as predicted, staying would not be survivable.
